Walter Beeton died from wounds on 26th October, 1914, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 6th Dragoon Guards were part of 4 Cavalry Brigade, 2nd Cavalry Division that arrived in France at the beginning of the war and that had been involved in much of the early fighting most recently at Messines, just to the south of Ypres. |
